YAPOOS – COUNT TO THREE [MITSU KAZOERO] (1991)

lyrics by JUN TOGAWA | music by YOICHIRO YOSHIKAWA

The third track off of 1991′s Turn the Y Dial! / Daiyaru Y wo Mawase!, which continues the secret agent theme that Togawa likes to play with so much. She name drops some fun guns in this one too, just for good measure.

The title of the song is a reference to the Japanese title of The Big Sleep. Fun facts!

Translation and notes are under the cut:

“Even if it costs my life and everything important to me…
it’s fine,” the answer goes.

3, 2, 1, 0 (MURDER) (1) with a Derringer (2)
3, 2, 1, 0 (MURDER) Beretta U92F (3)

Once you count to three, living?
Living becomes a lot less scary
3, 2, 1, 0 (MURDER) with a Derringer
3, 2, 1, 0

Run away
Take your cut
Live and play while you run for your life
It’s only a countdown!
Even an idiot can do it.
I ain’t, I ain’t scared

The organization will pursue me like this
All the way to the end of the earth
And I have the resolve
To embark on my escape

Run away
Take your cut
Live and play while you run for your life
It’s only a countdown!
Even an idiot can do it.
I ain’t, I ain’t scared

The organization will pursue me like this
All the way to the end of the earth
And I have the resolve
To embark on my escape

1: Written in English in the original Japanese lyrics as ‘marder,’ I’ve taken the liberty of correcting it.

2: A small, portable pistol that can be easily concealed. Usually only holds a few shots.

3: Semi-automatic handgun, though I’m not sure exactly what the U in the model name stands for. There doesn’t appear to be a pistol with that name specifically, though the 92F does exist, the F referring to the ‘federal’ in ‘federal government,’ by which it was tested.
