JUN TOGAWA – AURORA B (1985)

lyrics and music by J. SCOTT / M. AREIERI

japanese translation by JUN TOGAWA

A ‘cover,’ ostensibly, of Chrisma/Krisma’s 1979 song of the same name, though the lyrics are completely different. The music appears to be the same, though, and the only thing that Togawa has really kept is the cover.

Lyrically, the song seems to be a love song, with a slight undercurrent of obsession that Togawa is known for, particularly on the Suki Suki Daisuki album.

Translation and notes under the cut:

On the third night of continued snow
The red flames burning in the fireplace
Looked like a person
Please, won’t you come back soon
Ho, ho

It changed to hail on the fourth night
A midnight phone call – who could it be from?
Surely from someone I don’t know
Please, won’t you come back soon
Ho, ho

Please, won’t you come back soon?
Please, won’t you come back right now?
Ho, ho

The fifth morning, and the rain has gone
And after you go out
I put on the news on the radio
If you were in an accident, what would I do?
Ho, ho
