I have no idea who wrote this or who did the music!
How’s this for obscure? A folksy, new wavey offshoot of goth rock band ZELDA featuring two women from the group playing flutes and accordions while singing songs about the forest. There’s not even any lyrics out there online – I had to piece it all together by ear! The song itself is really good but there’s something like…vaguely ominous about the lyrics, I’m not quite sure what it is, but this song makes me feel like I’m going to get eaten by a bear.
Lyrics and notes under the cut:
A dream at dusk
Marking the end of one day
And so when we hear that mysterious music
From inside the forest
We’ll gather it up, gather it up, gather it up in our baskets (1)
A dream at dusk
Marking the end of one day
And so when we hear that mysterious music
From inside the forest
We’ll gather it up, gather it up, gather it up in our baskets
Inside the grey things
And the dark things
Are dreamt reverberations of a good spring in the forest
Whisper them to me and we’ll gather it up in our baskets
dream at dusk
Marking the end of one day
And so when we hear that mysterious music
From inside the forest
We’ll gather it up, gather it up, gather it up
We’ll gather it up, gather it up, gather it up
We’ll gather it up in our baskets
1. There is no indication what ‘it’ refers to here.
